Current DBTNZ events now open for registrations:

  • DBT-Prolonged Exposure - February 12th -15th , 2018 (Auckland). DBT-PE is an evidence based protocol for treating ‘stage 2’ and PTSD problems for BPD and related DBT clients.  It targets stage 1 and stage 2 problems within the first year of treatment and has demonstrated substantial further reductions in suicidal behaviour. We have secured dates with US based Behavioral Tech to bring Dr Melanie Harned (the developer of the DBT-PE protocol) for a four day DBT-PE training.  This training will assume a high level of level of previous DBT training.   • DBT for Eating Disorders - Individual DBT Treatment Strategies Applied to Complex, Multi-Diagnostic Patients with Eating Disorders. Monday 26th March 2018. Auckland. This one-day event will introduce the principles and practice of managing eating disorder behaivours witin a standard outpatient DBT programme. The training will be provided by US-based  Dr Lucene Wisniewski, a recognized world leader in ED treatments. Click here for details.
  • An Introduction to DBT in Schools: From Prevention to Intervention.Friday February 16th , 2018 (Auckland). This one day training will introduce a range of School-based implementations of DBT including the preventative DBT-STEPS-A social and emotional learning curriculum and DBT informed school counselling for identified at-risk young people. The training will be provided by US-based  Dr Lizz Dexter-Mazza, one the the developers of the DBT-STESPS-A approach. Click here for details.
