  • An Introduction to DBT in Schools: From Prevention to Intervention - Friday 16th February 2018, Auckland. This one-day training will introduce the application of DBT in multiple school contexts to address both prevention and intervention. We overview the school-based implementation of DBT, DBT informed school counselling and introduce the preventative 'DBT STEPS-A' social and emotional learning curriculum. The training will be provided by US-based Dr Lizz Dexter-Mazza, one of the developers of the 'DBT STEPS-A' programme.  Click here for more information and to register online.
  • DBT for Eating Disorders - Monday 19th March 2018, Auckland. This one-day event will introduce the principles and practice of managing eating disorder behaviours within a standard outpatient DBT programme. The training will be provided by  Dr Lucene Wisniewski, a recognized world leader in ED treatments. Click here for more information and to register online.
  • Skills Essentials in DBT - Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th April 2018 in Auckland. This two-day event covers the fundamentals of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills as well as how to set up and run a group, teach skills and overcome some common skills group problems. Training with only wait-list places available:

  • DBT-Prolonged Exposure - This four-day training (February 12th -15th, 2018, Auckland) is currently fully subscribed but other places may become available by joining the wait-list. DBT-PE is an evidence based protocol for treating ‘stage 2’ and PTSD problems for BPD and related DBT clients.  It targets stage 1 and stage 2 problems within the first year of treatment and has demonstrated substantial further reductions in suicidal behaviour. The training will be provided by US trainers Dr Melanie Harned (the developer of the DBT-PE protocol) and Dr Lizz Dexter-Mazza.  This training requires a high level of level of previous DBT training.
